The Ontario Breastfeeding Committee held a BFI capacity building
workshop on November 17th. 2010 (the day before the BFI Expo 2010)
. The purpose of the workshop was to
- identify a support base for BFI implementation
in Ontario
- consolidate BFI resources and expertise and
build capacity
- update participants on the BFI designation
process in Ontario
Team members were identified from OBC members
with extensive knowledge and experience with the Baby Friendly Initiative
process and standards, and committed to become resources for facilities
implementing BFI in Ontario.
Two lead BFI assessors , Marianne Brophy and Kathy
Venter, facilitated a day of group work and planning which resulted
in positive evaluations and strategies for future tasks.
